Data and privacy
A plain-language explanation of what information we collect when you shop at ALUME, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can reach us with any privacy concern.
Name, email, phone, shipping address, billing details, order history, and device/cookie data may be processed.
Order processing, delivery updates, fraud prevention, support, store improvement, and marketing when permitted.
Customers can contact support for privacy questions, account updates, marketing opt-outs, or data requests.
We may collect customer information such as name, email address, phone number, billing address, shipping address, payment confirmation details, order history, support messages, and website usage data.
We use customer information to process orders, collect payments, arrange shipping, send order updates, provide support, prevent fraud, improve the website, and send marketing communications where customers have consented or where permitted by law.
We may share information with trusted services that help operate the store, including Shopify, payment processors, shipping partners, email/SMS tools, analytics providers, fraud-prevention tools, and customer support platforms.
The store may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the cart working, remember preferences, analyze store performance, understand traffic, and improve shopping experiences. Customers can manage some cookies through browser settings.
If customers subscribe to email or SMS updates, we may send product news, offers, and store updates. Customers can unsubscribe using the link or instructions in each message.
Depending on location, customers may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. Customers can contact us to submit a privacy request.
We keep information only as long as needed for order records, customer support, legal obligations, fraud prevention, accounting, and legitimate business purposes.
Yes. Shopify powers the storefront and checkout, so it processes information needed to run the store and complete orders.
Every marketing email has an "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom — clicking it removes you immediately. For SMS, reply STOP to any marketing message. If you would like written confirmation, please write to us via the contact page.
No. Payment information is handled directly by our payment gateway, which is PCI-DSS compliant. ALUME only receives a confirmation of whether the payment succeeded — we never see, receive, or store your card number, CVV, or PIN.
If you have any privacy concern, complaint, or request that isn't answered above, please reach out via the contact page — Ankit Chappru (founder of ALUME) personally handles privacy queries and will respond within 7 business days. For complaints you feel haven't been resolved, you can also approach the relevant authority under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 once its grievance framework is fully operational.
